CTI's New Module, PBX Control, to Provide Computer Telephony Integration

CTI Group, an international provider of e-billing and analytics, call recording and call management solutions, has been providing telephony applications to help service providers, resellers or enterprise customers support their business.

Recognizing the priority all of them place on integration, it has enhanced its Proteus range of call accounting applications by releasing a new module – PBX Control – which provides computer telephony integration between many PBX branches and the Proteus application.

The Proteus product suite has been designed to provide companies with detailed insight into their voice systems, and consist of a set of call accounting and software apps.

The new module offers three key Proteus functions reportedly not available in previous versions: Click-2-Dial, Phone Guardian and Fraud Guard.

With click-2-dial, users can seamlessly dial from the Proteus online directory, saving valuable time and granting quicker access to records, while the Phone Guardian will help administrators not only define active and inactive periods for extensions, but give them the power to disable extensions during inactive hours.

Lastly, Fraud Guard, as the name typifies, will provide real-time alerting and monitoring, with threshold triggers for cost and usage and trend reporting. As such, whenever a threshold is reached, extensions will be disabled. This way, companies can control voice cost and also ensure that the voice systems are not used indiscriminately.

These three new useful and reportedly effective tools are expected to help telecom administrators manage PBX policy and security simultaneously, enhancing the end-user interface with the product.

Commenting on the release, Trevor Davis, head of products at CTI Group, observed that this was an entirely new area of focus for the Proteus product suite, which was traditionally passive in the network.

Deployed at enterprises that log and report in excess of 1,000 sites with over 250,000 extensions, the Proteus product suite is currently deployed in more than 45 countries, and plays a trusted role in managing telephony costs at major corporations internationally.

CTI Group upgraded its fully scalable, hosted call accounting solution for VoIP and traditional PBX systems with the release of Proteus 7.1, which brings voice management capabilities to its users.
