In other news, TantaComm announced the availability of Centralize, a standard platform for call recording and quality monitoring. This allows for easy quality monitoring, combined data analysis, and long term retention. The product can be implemented in a standalone format or integrated within the TantaComm IQ product suite.

CenturyLink also saw some positive news within the call recording sector. The telecommunications company was awarded a five- year agreement from the U.S. General Services Administration to employ VoIP services. The services will be provided to GSA Region 8 offices in Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Utah.

"We've successfully worked with GSA Region 8 for decades as a provider of Centrex and business voice services, and we're delighted that GSA has chosen CenturyLink to provide turn-key VoIP services to GSA's customer agencies in the Rocky Mountain region," said Diana Gowen, CenturyLink senior vice president and general manager.

Lastly, the benefits of call recording within the VoIP envioirnemt were explored. Call recording can improve business operations when used with software that connects both PSTN and VoIP digital audio files. These files can be created and captured for archiving purposes or future reviews.
