MPower and NFP Consultants announced a partnership which will enable adoption of open source CRM solutions by charitable organizations. MPower provides open, flexible and powerful software required by nonprofit constituent relationship management (CRM) and fundraising.
NFP Consultants provides technology management and software consulting services for nonprofits of various sizes and missions. It caters to tribal and quasi-government organizations too. NFP offers accounting and fundraising solutions, especially products for nonprofits offered by business management companies like Sage Software (

“By partnering with MPower, we’ll now be able to help our clients add a very powerful, proven solution for managing their constituent relationships and fundraising without having to make a large, upfront investment, a common barrier to entry for so many nonprofits,” said John Francis, president of NFP.
“And, because MPower provides a truly open platform, it will not only serve these organizations well initially, but also give them a technology system that can grow as they grow or be modified as their needs change. It’s great to have MPower as an option in a marketplace of closed, proprietary offerings such as Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge,” he added.
Nonprofits and direct marketers use MPower’s open source software with full features for managing daily operations like donation processing, fulfillment, event and volunteer management, call center and mail activity tracking, and major donor relations. Important data can be integrated in real time so that they are available to channels like direct mail, television, radio, online, telemarketing and other events in a single, convenient database.
Being an open source offering MPower can be used with no licensing fees and users have access to the source code for integrating applications and modifying software according to their organizational needs. Users can share innovations to software by taking part in MPower community. In the case of proprietary software, changes are not allowed besides having to pay for new modules even if not required.
“We’re ecstatic about joining forces with NFP, an organization that shares our passion for helping nonprofits fully leverage technology to operate more efficiently and effectively in pursuit of their missions,” said Randy McCabe, Founder and CEO, MPower.
“We’re also thrilled that a technology consultancy of NFP’s stature is working alongside MPower to get open source CRM and fundraising software into the hands of nonprofit professionals,” he concluded.
