CRM Database Part of SNS, Boomi Contract with Alliance Boots

By David Sims
TMCnet Contributing Editor

SNS, a supply chain services provider, in partnership with Boomi, has announced signing a contract for the implementation of a business-to-business (B2B) integration product for Alliance Boots, a pharmacy-led health and beauty group in Europe.

Alliance Boots chose Boomi Visual Integration Platform to "ensure the synchronization and data integrity" of their CRM database, as well as those of other applications.

The Alliance Boots health and beauty group comprises approximately 3,000 retail outlets, including associates, of which approximately 2,700 have a pharmacy. There's also a wholesale network of over 380 depots, including associates, for over 125,000 outlets.

With a project of this size and the number of different applications to be integrated, the choice of the integration layer application was a big issue, SNS officials say. The integration product will be deployed at all sites, with France as a first go-live.

SNS has done different integration projects around the Gulf and Middle East and was involved in several projects in Europe using the Boomi integration tool, among others.

In February Boomi announced that MDS Pharma Services has implemented Boomi On Demand to integrate its Salesforce CRM application with its legacy on-premise Oracle applications.

Boomi's SaaS (News - Alert) integration app is expected to give MDS Pharma Services operational efficiencies through more accurate data and reporting, the Boomers say.

By integrating its SaaS and on-premise applications and allowing information to flow between related systems, MDS Pharma Services is marketed to both global pharmaceutical and biotech clients.

Boomi On Demand provides integration services without the need for hardware appliances, software packages or coding. Integrations are built visually via point-and-click, drag-and-drop.

Earlier this year Boomi launched what company officials called a "fully on-demand integration service" with the general availability of Boomi On Demand.

Bob Moul, president and CEO of Boomi, said the product is "fundamentally redefining the integration market in much the same way that salesforce.com transformed CRM."
