AVIcode's Intercept uX Management Pack to Provide Enhanced End User Experience Monitoring

AVIcode Inc., a provider of real-time, always-on application monitoring solutions, has introduced the Intercept uX Management Pack for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007. The new management pack further complements the AVIcode set of .NET (News - Alert) application performance monitoring solutions, and provides the enterprises with extended capabilities of Operations Manager 2007 by providing end user experience monitoring.

Gartner (News - Alert) Inc., an information technology research and advisory company recently conducted its first “Application Performance Monitoring” or ‘APM’ (News - Alert) Magic Quadrant market study, Gartner Inc. and defined five core dimensions of application performance monitoring. The study says these five dimensions are a result of the “increasingly recognized importance of APM that takes into account the management problems entailed by modern application architectures. Further, it adds that during the past year, APM vendors have come to recognize that all five dimensions are equally critical, and the vendors are, through either acquisition or internal development, adjusting their product portfolios accordingly.

With the introduction of the Intercept uX Management Pack, AVIcode now extends its solution set, which covers all five dimensions, into the Operations Manager 2007 environment. These five APM dimensions are end user monitoring, user-defined transaction profiling, application component discovery and modeling, application component deep-dive monitoring and application performance management database.

Offering insight into the end user experience, the Intercept uX Management Pack specifically looks at the real-time environment and user behavior factors that impact the performance of an application. These factors include statistical tracing information for all sessions and user transactions and browser rendering performance, including HTML payload size, and load times for network, server, DOM and pages. Apart from them, JavaScript execution time, including call stack, parameters, global variables and “OnClick” control execution time;AJAX call monitoring and correlation with server side execution and statistical and trending data including average execution time, failures per second and performance issues per second also play a vital role in assessing the level of application performance being offered to the end users.

AVIcode provides an integration of server-side and end-user monitoring capabilities that enable the users in accessing a complete view of an application’s health, from keyboard-to-eyeball. According to Victor Mushkatin, CTO of AVIcode, company’s keyboard-to-eyeball approach detects errors from the browser to the server to the database and back, offering a real-time look into the applications that help a business operate. Mushkatin noted that the Intercept uX Management Pack, along with AVIcode’s .NET and SharePoint Application Management Packs, provide Operations Manager users with end-to-end visibility into these applications, helping to reduce downtime and improve mean time to resolution.

In February AVIcode, Inc. announced that Australia’s Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations or ‘DEEWR’ has chosen the company’s Intercept Studio and Advisor products to better manage the performance and stability of internally developed applications.
