SIP Print Joins Avaya DevConnect Program

SIP Print, a creator of an affordable SIP-based VoIP call recording platforms, announced it is the latest company selected for membership in the Avaya DevConnect (News - Alert) program.

The Thousand Oaks, Calif.-based company develops affordable call recording solutions for VoIP-based phone systems, an appliance-resident application that brings advanced call recording capabilities to small and medium-sized businesses that need to record calls for up to 200 seats at one location. With the technology, companies can record phone conversations to meet training, Q/A, compliance, and regulatory needs for a low cost, company officials said.

The Avaya DevConnect program promotes the development, compliance-testing, and co-marketing of third-party products that are compatible with standards-based Avaya (News - Alert) solutions.  Member organizations have expertise in a range of technologies, including IP telephony, contact centers and mobility applications. Avaya said that organizations help companies extend the value of multi-vendor networks and transform voice into an intelligent business application that delivers true value to the bottom line.

As a member of the DevConnect program, SIP Print (News - Alert) will have access to a range of support from Avaya, including technical resources and training. Membership in Avaya's developer community will help SIP Print build its business, allowing it to serve customers and channel partners more efficiently and effectively,  Donald C. Palmer, CEO of SIP Print, said.

"By leveraging Avaya resources and working more closely with the company to deliver compliance-tested solutions to the market, we are able to reduce network complexity, improve security and reliability, and speed time to deployment so businesses can quickly realize a benefit to their bottom line," Palmer said in a statement.

In June, SIP Print introduced the SIP Print Labs certification program, a multi-faceted effort designed to collaborate with IP-PBX (News - Alert) vendors, customers, and channel partners to define standards of interoperability and performance for call recording applications on SIP-based phone systems. Since its introduction, SIP Print Labs has certified a number of leading IP PBX systems. Several Avaya IP communication systems are currently undergoing certification testing, company officials said.

The Avaya DevConnect program includes thousands of software and hardware developer companies, integrators, service providers and customers. Members have created an array of solutions tested for Avaya compliance, including natural language speech recognition applications, wireless services, specialized computer telephony integration and reporting capabilities, and applications tailored for specific vertical industries, Avaya said.

"Development partners like SIP Print are helping Avaya dramatically expand the options available to its customers," said Eric Rossman (News - Alert), vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya, in a statement. "We're able to provide the tools businesses need to change the way they work and to establish a true competitive advantage in the marketplace. They are able to use unified communications applications to make critical information readily available to both employees and customers, regardless of where they are or how they choose to communicate.”

In related news, Avaya recently selected Apparent Networks, a developer of PathView, a software application that provides IT teams with the end-to-end visibility into network paths required to manage new distributed applications, for membership in the Avaya DevConnect program. As TMCnet reported, companies deploying Voice-over-Internet Protocol and unified communications applications can use PathView to manage end-to-end network performance to ensure “smoother” roll-outs and delivery of “higher-quality” services.
