Proteus PBX Control Launched by CTI Group
CTI Group (Holdings) Inc. a developer of telecommunications solutions for fixed, mobile and converged communications, has recently released PBX Control, a new enhancement to the Proteus range of call accounting applications.
The newly released PBX Control module provides Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) between the Proteus application and a number of Private Branch Exchanges (PBXs).
The new module offers three additional key Proteus functions which enhance its overall functionality and they are;
- Click -2- Dial: This functionality provides seamless dialing from the Proteus Online Directory to the users, as there would be no more searching and fumbling. Click-2-Dial also ensures there is no waste of precious seconds when it counts.
- Phone Guardian: As the name suggests, this additional function guards the phone. This functionality allows administrators to distinguish between active times and inactive times for extensions. During inactive hours extensions can be disabled.
- Finally, Fraud Guard: Fraud Guard is the real time monitoring application with alerts. It includes additional alert triggers which can disable an extension when a predefined threshold is reached. It could be cost and usage thresholds or any other preventive threshold that monitors the module.
Trevor Davis, head of products at CTI Group, commented that, "This is a major new area of focus for the Proteus product suite. Proteus has traditionally been passive in the network. We are now adding functionality that provides telecom administrators with useful and effective tools to manage PBX policy and security, as well as enhancing the end user interface with the product."
