After a week of political convention coverage topped off by the appearance of “Invisible Obama,” let’s return to the blessedly concrete world of the Call Recording community to review this week’s news.

Syn-Apps upgraded its SA-Announce notification software to version 8.3.14. The software includes full redundancy and fault tolerance thanks to the ability to cluster multiple SA-Announce servers together. This clustering ensures message delivery even during outages and system faults.

SA-Announce is a cousin to Syn-Apps Call Replay, which call recall, all calls, specific calls or random calls for compliance and internal audits. Call recordings can be reviewed and shared for training purposes.

Applied Global Technologies (AGT) released EncoreB2B, a service that connects to existing Cisco, Polycom, Lync and Computenix infrastructures to deliver secure video to mobile devices. By connecting over the Mobile Pathway Protocol, government clients can leverage existing open and secure web ports to create simple and accessible mobile collaboration.

According to AGT EVP of Product Marketing Mark Cray, EncoreB2B is being used by Armed Services branches, civilian agencies and state governments to enable distance learning, telemedicine, joint operations, telework and mobility.

Mediahawk announced that it teamed up with SEO Positive to enhance its call tracking capabilities. Mediahawk tracks the path that customers take from the original click on a search engine result to the moment that they actually place a call to a business. Now, in addition to tracking customer habits, businesses can develop SEO and pay-per-click campaigns thanks to the Mediahawk/SEO Positive partnership.

In other related news, Retell, a U.K. call recording hardware and software manufacturer, celebrated motorsports at Knockhill this week. The eBay Motors West Surrey Racing team that Retell sponsors took two 1-2 finishes in at Knockhill and has set their eyes on their next event in Rockingham.

With that news, we end our wrap-up of this week in the Call Recording community. Enjoy your weekend, and try not to talk to any empty chairs.
