CenturyLink Receives $20M Order from U.S. GSA

CenturyLink, Inc., a telecommunications company, recently announced that the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded the company a task order worth $20 million.

According to the five-year agreement, CenturyLink will provide Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services to GSA Region 8 offices throughout Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Utah.

CenturyLink provides data, voice and managed services in local, national and select international markets through its high-quality advanced fiber optic network and multiple data centers for businesses and consumers.

The company also offers advanced entertainment services under the CenturyLink Prism TV and DIRECTV brands.

CenturyLink's customers range from Fortune 500 companies in some of the country's largest cities to families living in rural America. Headquartered in Monroe, La., CenturyLink is an S&P 500 company and is included among the Fortune 500 list of America's largest corporations.

"We've successfully worked with GSA Region 8 for decades as a provider of Centrex and business voice services, and we're delighted that GSA has chosen CenturyLink to provide turn-key VoIP services to GSA's customer agencies in the Rocky Mountain region," said Diana Gowen, CenturyLink senior vice president and general manager, who oversees solutions for federal, state and local government customers.

Meanwhile, Savvis, a CenturyLink company and provider of cloud infrastructure and hosted IT solutions, recently announced that XM Asia Pacific, a provider of digital marketing and technology consulting services, will host its clients' digital engagement platform on Savvis' enterprise-class cloud infrastructure. XM Asia Pacific cited as factors in its decision to select Savvis the absence of long-term contracts, reduced deployment time, generous capacity management policies, robust service-level agreements and security, global availability via regional Savvis-managed data centers and Savvis' track record of successful cloud deployments.
